Program Overview
Ten Broeck Hospital's Chemical Dependency Partial Hospitalization
Program is a structured day treatment program designed to address
the unique needs of adolescents (ages 13 to 18) and adults (ages 18
and over) who exhibit substance abuse issues and may also include
additional emotional or behavioral problems.
The Chemical Dependency Partial Hospitalization Program is
offered Monday through Friday for adults and adolescents. Adults
and Adolescents attend sessions on Saturdays along with family
members. The program is designed to treat adults and adolescents in
need of intensive CD treatment, but without need for 24 hour, seven
(7) day a week restrictions, or the structure and security of an
inpatient setting. This level of care affords the patient the
intense CD treatment modalities (i.e., group, individual, family
therapies and specialized academic classes) while still interacting
with their home and community environments.
The Chemical Dependency Partial Hospitalization Program services
include the following:
- Comprehensive evaluation and counseling provided by a Certified
Chemical Dependency Counselor.
- Specialized academic classes for adolescents accredited and
provided by the Jefferson County Board of Education.
- Assessment and monitoring by a Registered Nurse experienced in
assessment and treatment of chemically dependent individuals.
- Individualized treatment plan designed to meet individual

- Individualized therapy as needed.

(including a nurse, social worker, activity therapist, expressive
therapist, special education teacher and psychologist) directed by
a psychiatrist.

Upon completion of the Partial Hospitalization Program, a
discharge plan is formulated with the patient, family and referral
source. An appropriate referral is then made for the patient to
continue the recovery process in a step-down program.
