Chemical Dependency Inpatient Program
|
Program Overview
Inpatient Program that utilizes a Medical and 12 Step Model of
Treatment for treating chemically dependent adults (ages 18 and
over). This program is designed to provide the highest level of
direct patient care that is possible which includes physical,
social, spiritual, medical, psychotherapeutic and 12 step treatment
interventions. An individually structured intensive program, the
Adult Chemical Dependency Inpatient Program focuses on breaking the
denial of Chemical Dependency and beginning the process of
recovery.
The Adult Chemical Dependency Inpatient Program Services include
the following:
- A safe milieu with 24 hour skilled nursing care.
- Thorough assessment and monitoring by a Registered Nurse
experienced in assessment and treatment of chemically dependent
individuals, and development of an initial treatment plan.
- Evaluation and crisis stabilization by a multidisciplinary team
(including a nurse, certified chemical dependency counselor, social
worker, activity therapist, psychologist, and dietitian) directed
by a psychiatrist.
- Psychiatric evaluation by a psychiatrist.
- Physical examination and intervention by a physician.
- Pharmacological interventions as indicated.
- Development of a Master Treatment Plan by a multidisciplinary
team which is problem oriented, goal directed, contains measurable
objectives, and addresses criteria for discharge.
- Development of a comprehensive discharge plan.
- Educational groups which focus on the disease process of
Chemical Dependency, Twelve Steps of AA/NA, process of recovery,
process of relapse and nutrition.
- Therapeutic groups that address the areas of denial, feelings
(including shame, guilt and anger) assertiveness, problem solving,
grief resolution, life planning, stress and coping skills,
self-image, social skills, occupational and recreational
therapy.
- Individual therapy as needed.
- Group therapy and educational groups for family members and/or
significant others.
Following completion of the Adult Chemical Dependency Inpatient
Program, an appropriate referral is then made for the patient to
continue treatment in the least restrictive level of care possible
(i.e., partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient,
aftercare program). The level of care recommended is determined by
the individual needs of the patient.
